01

Think beyond the form

Item setup is the foundation for ordering, logistics, shelf placement, search and content. A field that looks minor can affect replenishment, discoverability or compliance later.

02

Preflight checklist

Create one controlled source of truth before submission.

  • GTIN/UPC and supplier item number
  • Each, inner and case pack configuration
  • Dimensions, weight and shipping hierarchy
  • Cost, retail, category and tax attributes
  • Titles, images, features and required compliance data
03

After submission

Do not stop at accepted. Verify that the item appears correctly, pack relationships are intact, content is live and the correct fulfillment path can transact.

USE THIS IN AN INTERVIEW

I treat item setup as an end-to-end launch dependency, not data entry. I validate identifiers, pack hierarchy, logistics and digital content before and after submission.

KNOWLEDGE CHECK

Can you explain it?

What does 'accepted' not guarantee?+

That content, pack hierarchy, fulfillment and downstream systems are all correct.
